Another cold snap in NZ

MetService is warning of a particularly cold southerly snap moving onto the country.
It is expected to travel over Southland and Otago this afternoon, reaching Canterbury and Marlborough this evening and Cook Strait around midnight.
Forecasters are predicting snow showers below 300-400 metres in many southern and eastern areas later today.
I cant believe this, it's getting beyond a joke now, we were told to expect temps in the region of 20 - 24 degrees C and with 3 x days before departure it looks like Finland or something !
Jen...If your reading this you had better get your witchery to work on the weather otherwise we are going to be in for a difficult time. It's not the cold I'm bothered about but the possibility of ice on untreated roads that could prove disastrous !
